Kiat Tshài-bué: Flavor Series

In Taiwanese culture, before the banquet is over, the guests will receive the small gifts—Bué-tiám that host prepared elaborately. Most of them are sweet snacks and beverages. Towards the end of Taiwan Tea banquet, we focus on the water temperature. By demoing cold brew tea, we can enjoy the tea and the special dessert.

“Extraordinary” can be described as a sense of surprise when tasting the Flavor Series. Whether it is a flower-and-fruit tea (scented tea with Taiwan’s local flowers and fruits) or the fruity Oriental Beauty (the tea buds that have been bitten by the tea jassid). This “extraordinary” sometimes comes from the imagination of combination of special ingredients, sometimes from stroke of genius in nature. You can feel the unique flavor from each type of tea produced by the different elements combined with the tea liquid.

What kind of experimental sparks will be produced from the tea and different raw materials? Mixing tea and special raw materials, such as flowers and fruits by the scenting process, so that the aroma of the tea and the special raw materials are fully mixed together to create the special flavored tea.

 

What kind of stimulation will be brought to the tea from the vibrant tea garden ecology? In the tea garden, that the tea jassid visited, the tea leaves have been bitten have become curly in appearance, but due to the defense mechanism of plants, they have produced a special honey note and ripe fruit aroma. Because of the spirit of cherishing the good fortune of the Taiwanese tea farmers, this special tea can be passed down to generation to generation.
